JULIANA ROBLES

My passion is combining different materials and experimenting with new ones. I have mostly worked in mixed media sculpture with materials I can physically manipulate with my hands such as plaster and wire, but then I add other materials such as fabric, string, paint, etc. depending on what I want to communicate. Because my sculptures have a tactile quality to them, I was naturally drawn to encaustic painting and also the ease at which you can incorporate different materials. My inspiration comes from the colors and the patterns I see in nature. I am humbled by the beauty in nature.
